Got an X-Fi Titainium that came out of a Dell system, what driver would be best for Windows 7?

Wow, this in a old and "solved" post, but I just noticed it.
I have exactly the same sound card, Chaos.
I'm using the latest driver from Creative (which isn't very late):
Release date: 7/7/2010. Version. 6.01.1.1348
Let me know if there is a later one, although this one is very good. Traditionally they used to release a new driver once a year in summer, seems they skipped 2011?!?

Thanks man. Not "officially" compatable with my obsolete card anymore.
Still, I now have 7.1 cans (Vengeance 1500) which are like nothing I've heard before for total immersion and accurate positional audio in games., I don't care.
The old drivers are good anyway.

good work rob.
@andy time to upgrade bro? titanium is not old by any means. if you say were still rocking an audigy 2 ZS 'then' you would be considered 'put to shame'. x-fi is still pretty fresh tech by all measn 'bro.

Yeah, you are right Frankie. I shouldn't have used the word "obsolete."
My titaniums are still really good. Better than any on board solution. Just that the latest official drivers for my model are almost 2 years old. Still, if it ain't broken and all that.
I really like the control panel too, where you can adjust virtual surround and EAX effects. Good enough for me.

as you mentioned an kitguru that your headphones make the sound what it 'is'. I agree. as speakers tend to lose their sharpness after a while even when you don't use them often or very loud. the solution tho is a power amp as it pumps through the signal no matter what speakers you use and the clarity really comes from the boost it gives. headphones are good, but a power amp is where is at.
