O.C. ing my 1000

To All,

This is my first post, so I wanted to hit right in the mainstream of new knowledge.

I thought I'd been having problems with my cassette drive for storing the programs I wrote, but now I think the problem is my O.C.

My Timex 1000 has no excuse for not clocking up to at least 3.9 from 3.25 MHz, and I have upgraded the RAM to 16K, so there should be no "Black Screen of Death" issues. The swap file is certainly slow to cassette, but that is to be expected.

Might there be some new software to help in overclocking this monster? It is, as you all know, the baddest PC to come along in decades.

Bruce H.

Yes without knowledge of the details of your OC we cannot help much. SO what are your settings and and what are your stock presets??

I must apologize for my cheap hoax. I hoped for humor's sake the numbers would be just familiar enough that no one would read them carefully at first. I mean CPU from 3.2 to 3.9, and RAM upgraded to 16, you bet.

The post was about an ancient old tiny "PC" that was a kit or assembled, (about the same thing!), at about $100.00, when even an Apple 2+ cost $1700.00.

So it was considerably less capable than today's Iron Man kid's watch.

I built one into a briefcase with a little thermal printer, and good keyboard. Several upgrades later, I had an S-100. Still ancient history...

Fun in the early days before most of today's computer enthusiasts were born.

But thanks anyway,
Bruce
