PSU question / I have time

Just wondering what the power draw on two 570's + i7 970 pulls. so far I know that two 5870's with a cpu oced to 4.2 will run on a 750W psu drawing 60amps from the twelve volt rail. My question is will the 570's run on an XFX 850W Black Edition?

I think I would be leaning towards a 1200W PSU. The NZXT PP-800 wouldn't run my Q6600 with HD4870CFX properly.

You can check your system with this Bro.

From what I have learned you can run a 590 and 6990 easily drawing only 600W at peak, but I don't know the amp ratings for these cards.

I think they are around 300W each under load, 25 Amps per card.

On the psu I'm thinking about going 1000Watts and hoping gpu designers start to think of some kind of new hybrid design to increase efficiency as 1KW is probably enough to drive a small motorbike.

You'll be happy to know I did eventually upgrade my aging (2007) model PC Power and Cooling OCZ Brand 750 Blue Quad Silencer. It was a tossup between Corsair and Thermaltake. Nameably the HX1050 from Corsair and the ToughPower 1000W from Tt. I went with the Tt and it benches great thus far. I couldn't happier as I actually prefer it over the corsair PSU.
