Best platform for old school gaming

I'm thinking windows xp, core i3, 6870 15" digital lcd

for quake hexen 2 diablo duke 3d, doom 1&2 theme hospital, theme park rollercoaster tycoon transport tycoon nascar racing 2003 season, any others?

so far I have aquired two from the list of old school games I've enjoyed before. Nascar Racing (1994) and EF2000 (1995). EF2000 is one of the best flight sims I have ever played including all the MS Flight Sims even though it is a meager Dos based sim. Another good one is Jetfighter 2, TFX (pre ef2000) Janes Flight Sims, and ATF.
